Our Values
Show respect and compassion for the dignity of others by operating in
an inclusive, caring and collaborative manner:
Integrity
Operate with integrity and accountability to all stakeholder groups.
Diversity
Recognize and honour cultural competency
and diversity.

Food Security Advocacy
Food security means everyone has equitable access to food that is affordable, culturally appropriate, nutritious, and safe. It also ensures that all individuals have the agency to participate in and influence food systems that are resilient, ecologically sustainable, socially just, and that honour Indigenous food sovereignty.
Position on Equity and Anti-Racism
NutritionLink Services Society values diversity, inclusion, equity and social justice.
We recognize that food insecurity is rooted in historic and systemic barriers, beliefs and unconscious bias impacting the ability of individuals and families to thrive in their communities.
We support the principles of equality, dignity and fairness rooted in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations and the BC Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act Action Plan. Our programs is administered in a way that reflects these ideals.

First Year of Granting and
NutritionLink Bursaries (Past Initiative)
NLS awarded its first NutritionLink Services Society Grants to support food literacy, nutrition education, and food skills programs for priority populations across British Columbia.
NutritionLink began gifting three bursaries to university students studying nutrition or a subject with a nutritional component in British Columbia. One bursary was given annually to a student at the University of Victoria whose studies focus on food and nutrition in the School of Exercise, Science, Physical and Health Education. A second bursary was given to a student at Simon Fraser University who is working toward a Certificate in Applied Human Nutrition, and a third bursary helps finance the studies of a student at the University of Northern British Columbia.

We also extend our gratitude to the individuals who have served on our board in the past. Their invaluable contributions have helped shape NutritionLink Services Society into the organization it is today. View the list of past directors here.
